I'd go with 12.30
Example: Half way between 6 o'clock and 7 o'clock would we 6 1/2 o'clock (although we call it 6.30 or half past 6) .... so similarly, half way between 12 o'clock and 1 o'clock would be could 12 1/2 o'clock OR half a clock 'cos 12 o'clock is sometimes written as 00.00 on the 24 hour clock ..... sounds good to me anyway lol :)

I would say it's twelve thirty a.m. . At sea the time is always given as 18.30 hours or 22.30 hours, therefor twelve thirty a.m. would be 00.30.

I'm still trying to work this one out rowanwitch. Yes- 1.00 is 6 hours after 1.00 but I can't see why you chose 1.00 as the starting point.

Kingmushroom- how has the question arisen? Who has asked the question? That might give a clue as to the sort of answer that's wanted. Thanks

I'd say 6 o'clock - the only time the two hands exactly divide a clock face in half.

By this way of thinking [dividing clock in half] it could be 12.30 as well as 6 o'clock. and at least 12.30 mentions 'half o clock'. The 'clock' referring to the 12. What o'clock is it? means What time is it? [of the clock]
