Anyone help with this one please? I think algebra might solve it - and that's my weak subject!

If a brick weighs 2 kgs plus half a brick, what is the weight of 3 bricks ?

4 kgs, 6 kgs, 8 kgs, 9 kgs, 12 kgs

ooops . . .should read 4kgs, 6kgs, 8kgs, 9kgs, 12kgs
if b is a brick weight then

b = 2 + b/2 ➔ b/2 = 2 ➔ b = 4

thus 3 bricks weigh 12kg

I still haven't a clue how to start working out a puzzle like that.
b=2kg + b/2. Bring b/2 over to the other side by changing the sign to minus.

b-b/2=2kg

b/2=2kg so b=4.

3b=12
