In our solar system, which planet was furthest from the sun before Pluto was discovered?

As this is a riddle I presume I'm wrong and it is a trick question!

Pluto would still have been furthest from the sun even before it was discovered, so the answer, I think, is Pluto.

(Incidentally, hasn't Pluto now been demoted?)

Worth bearing in mind, although this was a catch question in more ways than one) that If Pluto is regarded as a planet, for anyone between the ages of 20 & 40, Pluto has been closer to the Sun than Neptune for over half their lives, as Pluto's orbit crosses that of Neptune & is closer to the sun for 20 years (approx) out of its 249 year orbit.
(Most recently between January 1979 & Feb 1999)
