A man goes to the market and buys a basket full of eggs. On his way home he decides to take a short cut through a farmer's field. The farmer will let him through, if he gives him half the eggs in his basket plus half an egg!
The man agrees and goes on his merry way. He comes to another field and the same happens. The farmer will let him through, if he gives him half the eggs in his basket plus half an egg! Which he does.
The man then comes to another field and the same again... The farmer will let him through, if he gives him half the eggs in his basket plus half an egg!
The man arrives home with NO eggs in his basket.
So in all, he goes through 3 fields and at each field he gives away half the eggs in his basket plus half an egg.
The question is...How many eggs did he have in his basket when he left the market?
Bear in mind that he doesn't break or crack any eggs! They are whole eggs and it's not a trick question...its logical!
