"Colney Hatch has its talent scouts everywhere." Sir Roderick Glossop, the loony doctor, was one of these talent scouts and poor old Bertie always managed to be at his most eccentric in this eminent neurologist's presence. Bertie's Aunt Agatha had high hopes that her imbecile nephew would be committed but Bertie and Sir Roderick eventually became firm friends in spite of the fact that Bertie had once punctured the rotund psychiatrist's hot water bottle by means of a knitting needle attached to a stick.
