only brackets, fractions and + and -
I can't see how this can be done and am looking forward to the answer.

If you are allowed to divide you can get: 8 / (3 - (8 / 3)) =24
I spent about 20 min on this earlier SB... and couldn't do it with no division or multiplication either!
Hope it's not a trick question....
Can't do the maths but would it be possible to put it like 3(8+8) so doing a multiplication this way?
Even doing that, I can't get it.
8 x 3 = 24 8 x 3 = 24

Not that difficult
8+3=11x3=33-8=24
No multiplication is allowed. I have solved it but need to upload a picture to demonstrate. One sec.
33-8 is 25
Here you go:

It's the same as my first solution but using fractions to represent the divisions.
You only used 1 eight Elvis
lmao... you are not allowed to use "x"
no I didn`t
I must have missed something then because 33-8 contains only 1 eight from what I can see.
lmao is right but needs to use the allowed brackets
3(8+3) - 8 = 24
I think Elvis was telling lmao that 33-8=25 not 24 and lmao used all the 8s and 3s in their calculation.
sb think elvis is trying to tell..lmao 33-8 =25 not 24
OK I cheated and googled it
The simplest answer is 8 / (3 - (8 / 3)) = 24

If you use factorials, you could do
38 - 8 - 3! = 24

And if decimals are allowed, then
(8 / .3) - (8 / 3) = 24
oops no he's not, that makes 25
You can't use factorials, divides or decimals.
