Was it a satellite

Tonight my son and I were looking at the bright moon in the clear sky and then saw a very bright orangey non flashing fast moving object. It looked as if it had a ring around it. Do you think it was a satellite,only when I have googled, it says they look like a small star, but this was bigger than a star. It was travelling from south west ish to north east ish.
It was very clear and very fast. Thank you
