Heard about this a few weeks back http://www.universeto...by-earth-in-november/ and was just wondering do you think there is any chance the asteroid could get taken in toward the earth or moon via gravity or what have you?

It's happened before so the answer must be yes.
If the animation is accurate re. relative speeds, the asteroid appears to be travelling about 8-10 times faster than the moon in its orbit. As it passes just inside the lunat orbit it is probably travelling about 7-8 time too fast to be captured by the earth's gravitational field.
To achieve orbit an object would have to be close enough and slow enough, that's tiny goldilocks zone, possible but unlikely.
If an asteroid was on the right trajectory and the Earth/Moon system in the right relative position, it is possible. However the event would be very rare - and rarer still for the capture to produce a stable long-term situation without it colliding (eventually) with the Earth or Moon.
