Has anyone been on this 'tour'? I was wondering what sort of ticket would you buy? Can you purchase on of those hop on hop off tickets that give you a certain amount of stops so you personally can decide where you want to get off? Or do you need to decide in advance and have a fully pre-booked ticket?

What was the travel like?
Where would you suggest stopping off?
Do you remember what cost was like?
What type of ticket would I need for this trip?


Any suggestions/info will be most helpful.

I have been looking on the AMTRAK website but have failed to find any information as to whether I can buy one of those on and off tickets for this line.

The closest seems to be multi city tickets where you can put options in.
