Very Strong but Light Metal Tubing for...
I would like to know what kind of metal tubing is Very Strong yet Fairly light? Makeing a Dune Buggy :-) If it flips, it needs to suport about 1.5 to 2 tons. Makeing it out of a Bronco Frame. Thanx all

Aluminium is light, cheap, strong, easily available as tubing, however it can't be welded and it bend a little supporting 1.5 -2 tonnes. You could try out some carbon fibre stuff or kevlar which is extemely strong, light and flexible though again probably hard to obtain.
A chrome-molybdenum alloy called AISI 413ON or 4140 is used in aircraft structures and is quite strong. I've seen it used in stock car construction as well. It's relatively inexpensive and can be readily welded. BTW, aluminum tubing can be welded with TIG or MIG expertise... admittedly difficult with electric...
