Virus Therapy

Some time ago one of the television channels showed a documentary about this place in Russia which used viruses instead of antibiotics to cure diseases.   They had a huge store which was in danger of being lost due to the breakdown of the Soviet System.   A millionaire in Seattle was going to develop this all further - does anyone know what happened?

No I didnt see that prog.

viruses that eat bacteria are called bacteriophages, and these were heavily researched in the 1930s with this idea in mind [didnt work] or OK couldnt get it to work.

Now, I did see a prog that said, that the dangerous pathogen programme in Russia had gone goop, and that the research labs were open game for just about anyone. and then there was the anthrax outbreak in the US which was probably started by erm someone who had been emplyed at their (US) Fort Detrick.

Not quite the same but still quite interesting
