If you mean a conventional central heating radiator panel then yes, but is you are talking about some form of individual electrical heater then not unless you have ensured the working components are completely dry.
What sort of rad is it? Should be they are normally alcohol filled.
Question Author
yes it is a radiator for central heating, i think they call it a convection radiator as heat also comes out from the top
Question Author
just checked it is called, Single Panel Single Convector radiator
I think the important point is what heats it? if it's part of oil or gas CH system then no problem. If electric them possibly.
Question Author
it run of the gas boiler
A 'thermometer + radiator' incident can only be hazardous if either:
(a) the thermometer contains a dangerous liquid (such as mercury); Galileo thermometer don't ;
(b) the radiator is of a type that has an electrical supply to it; your doesn't.

People tip liquids over those type of radiators in pubs every day, without anybody even giving it a second thought. Go ahead and turn your radiator on!
Than I don't see why it will damage the radiator or be unsafe.The liquid is alcohol based (ethanol) and can smell odd and take surface finishes off - I presume you've wiped up all you can?
If it is on central heating system the vents the vents are normally removable - not a big job if you google removing radiator covers there are YouTube vidioes on what to do. I cannot cut and paste lol.
Question Author
Yes thank you wiped it all up off the floor and glass table that it fell on, but for safety have turned the radiator off for tonight, then tomorrow will turn heating on in day time and open all windows and doors. Thank you so much for your help.
