Does Degree Of Carbon Change If It Is Connected Via A Double Bond Instead Of Single Bond To Another Carbon Atom?

My book says primary carbon is a carbon atom which is connected to one other carbon atom. and so on for sec ter and qurt. but every example it shows has only carbons attached via single bonds. so i was wondering weather double or triple bonds would have any bearing on the degree of carbon...thank you
