Oh dear readers
these Nobel discussions havent been very - er - edifying so far.
but never mind - the nominations continue. and I wonder what contributors think of these two for Chemistry
and since I am in charge of this thread I will not indulge in temperamental behaviour about posts
Why it was Mme Curie whose magic hands secured the first one - before her agregation ( PhD) and then she got another (physics) and her daughter ( Irene ) along with her son in law ( nu nu or someone)
and Geim - major subject Maff - a few years ago

Some critics will no doubt point out a negative factor, namely that the discovery has revolutionised the field of genetic engineering. Critics will, no doubt, latch on to this, and ask if we are about to see 'made to measure babies'? Perhaps we laymen should wait and see just what the reaction might be.
