Planet Alignment

This is an image from Google Sky app. It shows Saturn in front of Jupiter as when viewed from Earth. But I thought Jupiter should be in front of Saturn as its closer to us I thought.

Whoever coded the app clearly didn't allow for two planets to be in alignment when determining how they should be displayed.

At conjunction Jupiter and Saturn will be separated (apparently) by no less than 12 times their diameter. Jupiter will appear ~9 times brighter than Saturn.
