I would have thought that all types of treatment differ in price and are therefore "price sensitive".

Of course if you have lots of money cost is irrelevant!

I suspect it's taking budgetary constraints into consideration. "Sorry, the life saving drug you need costs to much, so we can't treat you...and your medical insurance won't cover it"...or similar.
I wonder if this is relating to America...

oh dear woof you clearly DIDNT pay attention to the appalling boring lectures available on the financing of the NHS

no insurance companies: no afferent loop where you are assessed for insurance: and therefore up to the seventies incredibly cheap to run as there was no costs to the pay side.

Funny story about those lectures PP. When I was a junior therapist I applied to do courses on finance for non financial managers as part of my career development plan . I was told no as I was too junior to need them. A year later through a series of events, I was a head of department and again (I thought I should) I applied for the same courses...and was told no as I was too senior to need them.
