Further to this post a while back, I was just wondering if anyone could expand on how pressure waves kill you?

Ignoring shrapnel etc, what actually happens to your body when a pressure wave hits you?

if you throw a tomato against the wall you'll see what happens
Check out the Palestinian Red Crescents website
www.palestinercs.org and click on search.
Type in 'bullet injury types and care' -then search. You will have to find the 'bullet injury types and care' by scrolling down and click on it. For some reason the info at the beginning of this section is all about the spalling effects and the explosive effects on the body caused by bombs.
Have you seen the pics from Buncefield (Hemel Hemstead). Take a look and see what happened there. Basically like a huge bomb.
depending on the force or speed of the pressure wave you would be just knocked over or it would have the same effect as being hit by a bus travelling at 1000 MPH, the effects of this are obvious!
