In a constant volume gas thermometer, the gas pressure at 0 degrees Celsius is 200mmHg and at 100 degrees Celsius, it is 270mmHg. What is the temperature if the thermometer produces a pressure of 214mmHg

ALTHO PV = nRT you can use PT = PT ( charles law I think) Get a bit of paper mark 273, 373 on the y axis and 200, 270 on the x axis plot in ( = put or mark) You need to find the gradient Y / X which I think is 100/73 = m There are bits of this you are going to have to fill in yourself Multiply m by the figure you are given 214 and you should get around 305 Check on the graph that this...

20c?
PV = nRT
Sorry, this is all way beyond me, as I never did well in chemistry or physics at school, but I salute those who can give you a sensible anser.
* answer (I actually did well at spelling)
Remember to change temperiture units to degrees K.
You haven't responded to any of your many other question's. We asked some question's to clarify you last one but you don't reply
ALTHO PV = nRT
you can use PT = PT ( charles law I think)

Get a bit of paper
mark 273, 373 on the y axis and 200, 270 on the x axis
plot in ( = put or mark)
You need to find the gradient Y / X which I think is 100/73 = m
There are bits of this you are going to have to fill in yourself
Multiply m by the figure you are given 214
and you should get around 305
Check on the graph that this looks about right

do NOT copy this out and turn it into your teacher
there are bits that you have to do yourself
Good grief!
This is so simple
The pressure increases linearly between 0 and 100 degC, so if the pressure is 214mmHg, the temperature is 0+(100x14/70) = 20deg C, as drmorgans correctly stated
