100W light
Could anybody tell me if a 100W light bulb gives off 100W of heat. If so by having 10 lamps burning 100W light bulbs would be the equivalent of a 1KW heater.

Most of the 100W is instantly converted to heat by the bulb, the rest is converted to light.
Then, whenever the light hits an object, some of it gets converted to heat.
In the end, only a very small fraction of the energy will escape, and you will get nearly 100W of heat.
yes you can heat a room with light bulbs.
You can basically generate heat with any electic device (computers, oven, vacuum cleaner... )
because all the electric power is converted to heat sooner or later.
But remember that electicity in the UK is not as cheap as in France, and you'd better have a gas heating instead ...
