You will have to take into account what widths the floor covering is supplied in. I suspect it is not made in widths greater than 5 metres, so you will have to run it lengthways. I imagine you do not want any joins so this means you will have to buy at least 5.210 metres of material at least 1.150 metres wide.
Assuming the supplier sells in 0.5m units and 1.5m is the minimum width available, you will have to pay for (5.5 x 1.5) = 8.25 square metres. If the minimum width available is 2 metres your requirement will increase to 11 square metres � almost twice as much as you need!.
If you lay them crossways you will have to cut 740mm off every board and your 27 boards will not quite be sufficient. It will leave you with a gap of 107mm across the hall.
