I know this question was asked a couple of years ago but


I saw a story http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/4542174.stm


which suggested the Mars lander could be seen from Earth.


Can we see evidence of the Apollo landings on the Moon ? If we can't, why not?

The smallest item on the moon that can be resolved with the Hubble is 89metres across. The lander is much smaller than that.

The report actually says the picture was taken form a camera on the Mars Gloabl Surveyor space probe, in orbit around Mars - a hell of a lot closer than taking one from Earth!

Does this mean that a space craft or the Hubble Telescope should be able to see the Apollo Moon Lander?
