If this is multiplied by all the fizzy drinks consumed every day world wide... How much CO2 in the atmosphere comes from the soft drinks industry?

It rather depends upon where the CO2 comes from that the sofft drinks industry uses. Maybe it came from the atmosphere in the first place?

I haven't looked this up so I could be totally wrong. I would guess than a standard can of fizzy drink would contain less than 100ml of carbon dioxide. Also, the carbon dioxide used is supplied by the big brewers/distillers as a by product of the fermentation of renewable plants. As such it does not add to the CO2 problem.

Burning 330ml of petrol (the same volume as a standard drinks can) produces over 300 litres of CO2.

The co2 in the uk comes as a by product of making ammonia gas for use in the fertilizer industry . The ammonia is made using natural gas . therefore the carbon dioxide used in the fizzy drink industry does contribute to global warming .
