If I set off on my bike tomorrow at 12 noon, how long would it take to cycle to Venus?
Don't forget, I'm a keen cyclist and am reasonably fit, my water bottle is full and I have got a spare inner tube too.

If you time your trip right, there's a gorgeous little gastro-pub / B&B on Mercury that you simply must visit.
(If you time it right, Mercury will be closer than Venus, and the Continental Breakfast they serve there is just divine - it was in all the Sunday supplements don't-you-know.)
Best of all, take the 4x4 as far as you can go - we did. We only got the bikes out once we'd nearly reached the top of Mons Venus , of course, as young Tarquin and Chlamydia are too small for the full ride - but the Landlord chap agreed that we were really in our element.
He even suggested a destination for next year's hols - Alpha Clitorri , we can't wait, as it sounds like it will suit us to a tee.
I hear the locals are frightful, but since we have already paid in full (First Class, All Inclusive), I don't imagine we should be meeting very many of those, thank-you-very-much, except the ones that do that do the authentic local dancing.
Best Wishes, Aunt Graptolite

Apologies, xud, my dodgy Aunt, (second Phylum, once removed), seems to have hi-jacked me log-in.
She's a bit of a Planetary Mail reader and frowns on us relly's who have to settle with a wet Lunar weekend in Tranquility-On-Sea for us hols.
All the best with the bike-ride - don't forget to e-mail AB to let us know how you are doing - apparently there's a great Cyber-Caff near the heliosphere what does a wicked fry-up - just watch out for the solar wind afterwards!
