I'm starting biological sciences degree soon, could someone tell me of some good textbooks to buy?

Your best bet is to contact your new tutor and he/she would be able to give you the list of books they recommend for your particular text. No use buying something now and then later finding out you should have gotten something else.

JustSia is spot-on. You will be given a list of the textbooks required during your first few days in uni.

Textbooks are expensive and the last thing you need to do is to buy unnecessary books when your financially disadvantaged, which is the case with virtually all students nowadays. Besides, you'll need the money for the student union bar!

You'll probably find that there are a lot of second hand books available from the people on the previous year.
