Why do so many highly infectious viruses originate in Africa? Such as, Ebola, Marburg, Lassa, HIV (maybe), etc?

One train of thought on this subject suggests that viruses are pretty evenly spread out over the world. As a lot of the world is commonly inhabited by man we have come across most of these over thousands of years and have either develped resistance to them or the effects are not as catastrophic to humans as the heamorragic fevers. It will also have something to do with availability of hosts which increases or decreases the strength of the virus.
By the way
Did you know the Smallpox virus DNA is closer to Human DNA than any other living thing.
