fishing is the greatest sport were people actually take part, though i'd say football is the most followed

So does wanting to be herded into a stadium like sheep by the tens of thousands and then chanting like cretins, usually using various, fragrant expletives whilst behaving like some stone age animal. All to look at other 'men' in shorts run round in front of them for their 'entertainment'. Beautiful Game...ummm....whatever!

I didn't say I was a football fan although it's saving grace is that it only lasts for 45 minutes each way

sorry I wasn't intending to direct that at you! Just thought that I'd have a dig at football since I'm sick to death of it infecting my TV coverage for 6 months at a time. Roll on the new Formulae 1 programs and rally coverage....i'll now wait for a barrage of abuse ;-)

I'm sorry that my answer seemed so offhand (I mean the mental part) I just see it as lunacy sitting on the cut bank in the rain.

Must be some tribal thing I just don't get....but then again NOTHING is as boring and silly as softball for adults...'baseball'. I went to my first game last year...New York Yankees stadium, playing some other team or other. All that happened was that they kept playing the national anthem (and sung it badly), scoffed their faces with loads of fatty food, people proposed in the crowd, the captive audience was then bombarded with Advertising for another new V8 Ford truck whilst they kept on saying prayers for all their 'fallen' (read dead) comrades in Iraq. Then every 30 minutes or so someone with a goatee and a stick, sporting a pair of pyjamas and a plastic hat would run around in circles. Most queer behaviour. ;o)

Now cricket....(flame suit on!)
