I'm trying to think of all the major stars/planets visible from Earth with the naked eye; so far I've got Venus, Mars, and Sirius...

Rigel, Betelgeuse (Both in Orion), Aldebran, The Pleiades, Algol, Mizar, There's a few probably incorrectly spelt. It's been a long time since I was into astronomy.
Saturn and Jupiter are also visible with the naked eye.
I think there's a couple of thousand visible to the naked eye from the UK - the 20 brightest are here:

In terms of planets Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn and possibly Uranus if you've got good conditions and have very goood eyesight

I'm a bit late on this one sorry, but aren't you missing the most obvious star visible OUR SUN or has someone already suggested it, if they have I apologise.
