if the earth's axis were less tilted what would happen to the temperatures during winter and summer?

If the earths Axis were totaly straight the sun would always be summer around the equator and both poles would have 12 hour days and nights. so there would be no seasons. slightly less tilted would mean that the seasons were slightly longer for one half of the world and slightly shorter for the other. Basicaly the land around the equator would get hotter the poles would even out. and winds would be effected
