Stardust

I have always had this theory that humans become stars when they die. Sounds crazy I know and haven't got time to explain but saw a scientist on This Morning saying very similar things, hes the guy who did Child of our Time and also a pioneering Doctor in the field of IVF I think, does anyone know his name and where I could find more on his theory.

Robert Winston is a respected scientist, I doubt he would go with such a fanciful notion. However he probably would have said that we are all made with heavy elements that can only be made in stars so in that sense we are "stardust".

You are quite right we and all you see started with the big bang and some of the matter condensed into stars. By their nature heavey elements were made this soup this is then made available when the star explodes as billions have done in the past along with any planetry sysytems that they may have had,,,,,again and again...true recycling.
So yes, matter can not be destroyed or created.. what we have now is what came at the big bang just the elements have been changed around and that is what we are made of...Star dust!

In a sense we are all made of star dust. All atoms in the universe (apart from hydrogen) were made inside stars and all atoms heavier than iron were made during stellar explosions known as "super nova".
In billions of years time the sun will expand in size and engulf the earth and our remaining atoms (still existing in other combinations) will return to the star we call the sun.
