Can anyone please tell me what causes brown/yellow spots and stains to appear on clothes, other than liquid spillage or food marks? I have just used a stain remover and it is quite efficient, but what causes these wretched things to appear? I am careful, I handwash and rinse well, and these marks are not the result of mishaps.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.
Pollen can. I remember getting pollen from a lilley on a white top which was an ar$e to get rid of.
And I'm allergic to lillies too so it was something of a double whammy.
What about smoking? I mean prolonged exposure in homes can turn your walls etc yellow can't it? (Sorry, don't actually know the answer to that one but just a thought).
Iron and rust particles, too, can create these stains. It might seem unlikely, but they can be so small as to be in the air. Ceramics manufacturers have endless trouble with these particles - they cause black spots in the glaze. Try the Stain Devils Rust Remover and see if that works.
