What would the temperature be? Assume Earth is as it is and does not have the thick clouds of Venus (which give that planet its high pressure and temperature).

Venus receives roughly twice the energy per square meter that the earth does.

The temperature is proportional to the fourth root of the flux so you'd only expect it to be about 20% warmer.

You can really see Venus' greenhouse in action, it's surface temperature is hotter than that on Mercury
