move or stop
many years a go a mate of mine gave me this question. If you had a object say a steel block that could never be moved no mater what hit it . was hit by a object say a steel ball that could never be stopped . what would the result be.

It's essentially a meaningless question not because they don't and cannot exist but because the very question contradicts itself.
It's a bit like asking "If there was a horse that could run faster than any car but then there was a car that could go faster than any horse who would win a race?"

Many years ago, someone posed this question to me as a riddle.
My response was much as jake-the-peg's answer (no object can be unmoveable/unstoppable).
The answer to the riddle was that it would cause the world to rotate (I thought it was rotating already). No mention was made in the riddle that the unmoveable object was attached to planet Earth.
