Ecosphere.
-- answer removed --
In a sense, most stars in the universe could have a region of space surrounding them that, if a planet sat within that volume, could support life.

Consider it this way, take an orange and cut it in half, take off the skin without tearing it and remove all the flesh inside.

Then put the two empty halves back together again.

Think of a tiny sun sitting at the centre of the orange and the eco or biosphere is the volume between the inside surface and the outer skin.

Imagine that the inner surface is where Water exists at 100 degrees celcius and the outer surface is where water freezes( 0 degrees celcius)

Roughly then, the biosphere is the volume contained within these two concentric spheres.

Actually, the Earth lies outside the sun's biosphere, since if we had no atmosphere, water could not exist in liquid form on the planets surface.
