just a collection of atoms none of which are " alive " but clumped together to form a human they give me life... how?

Some would argue you've posted this in the wrong section - science can explain many of the mechanisms but the ultimate How? still eludes us. Body & Soul might give you 50 different answers as to Why? but with little understanding (or concern) as th How?

I just accept the mystery and am thankful I am here to ask the questions.

Consciousness.

Personally, I see it as a feature that evolved to the way it is today, in our body's attempt to keep us alive for longer, to pro-create further.

I think you should start by having a real creful think about what "alive" means.
