Surely the answer is to have a built up shoe on the shorter leg so these problems dont occur?
My left leg is shorter than my right, but not by that much. That's quite a difference. Anyway, because of it my hips are out of alignment and in turn causes me backache. My physiotherapist told me to wear a gel heel in my shoe and I have had far less pain since.

So, yes, it will affect your spine, but to what extent depends on the difference between the two legs.

David Beckham also has this problem!
