I was driving tonight about 7pm and thought that the fullmoon looked larger than normal. It wasn't that high up in the sky so i wondered if it was,an atmospheric effect.

Can anyone who knows about such things enlighten me?

All full or nearly full moons near to the horizon look much bigger than when the moon's higher up in the sky.

It's an optical illusion.
