my thanks 31.55 mpg.
do they not do arithmetic on your planet?
RIG, curiously this gave rise to a post about how our children can't do maths. Did you know the formula? Did you know how to arrive at it?
Lizzyminto asks for the method. How are we to know she won't do the maths on paper next time?
? miles = 1 gallon
1 gallon = 8 pints
1.76pints = 1 litre
33.85 litres = 234.9 miles

Right/Left = (1x8x1x234.9)/(1x1.76x33.85) = 31.54 = Ans

This is done by the Chain Rule. Ask the question on line1. Link the units at the end of each line with the same units at the start of the next line until the units you started with reappear at the end of a line. Multiply the numbers in the right hand column and then multiply the numbers in the left hand column. Dividing right by left gives the answer!
Takes longer to explain than to do.
