maths question....
I have an indoor riding school measuring 20mts x 40mts, I need a new surface that is delivered by the ton - if I want a depth of 12cm +/- , please could some genius work out how much I need to order, I come up with a different amount every time, and I do need to be accurate. Thanks very much!

According to this website, http://www.pitchcare.com/shop/product/6648/182 /dunweedin-rubber-landscape-chips-500kg , 500kg of rubber chippings has a volume of 1.1 cubic meter. Therefore you would need about 45 tonnes.
Wow, that seems a lot. Still.....it is a large area.

Or use the calculator here. http://www.dunweedin.co.uk/products_landscape_ coverage.html .
It's calculating a depth of 4cm so you will have to multiply the result by three to get your 12 cm depth.

I drive an 8 wheel tipper truck and go to your sort of place all the time. You will probably have the tyre chips delivered in 8 wheelers, so thats 20 tonnes a time. Get 40 tonnes (2 loads). If its not enough you can order some more; if its too much just stockpile the excess, as I guarantee the horses will compact it, kick it out of the 'corral' etc.
