I suggest that if you don't know this then you should not be studying biology and our help with your homework will only temporarily disguise your lack of interest.
You will have to define what you mean by a unit. Otherwise, the answer must be ''an atom''
...or a quark!
I'm glad you two got there first. What I had in mind is bigger, (well at least in my case), than a quark . . . or an atom for that matter!
