other theories of how the universe was created?
This question is being posed on behalf of my 15 year old son, he is doing a project on the universe and how it was created,he has looked at the Big Bang theory but is stuck on any other ideas, can anyone point us in the right direction please with any websites he could look at or anything? He has only been given this weekend to do this and time is running out.....!

Back to the question, surely the problem with the Steady State theory is that it explicitly doesn't deal with a universe creation ? It proposes that the universe always was and always will be ?
As far as I am aware (and I accept I'm not an expert) there is only the scientific Big Bang theory, plus various myths and legends that the ancients used to try to explain it. Oh and one or two sarcastic mocking modern fairy tales too.
