Three charges 0.1 coulomb each are placed on the corners of an equilateral triangle of side 1 meter. If the energy is supplied to the system at the rate of 1 kW, how much time would be required to move one of the charges onto the midpoint of the line joining the other two?
do you just want the answer or do you want a full explanation of how it's done?
The reason I'm asking is because this involves the integral calculus and so the explanation would be difficult to post on answer bank, but I could post it on Google documents as a pdf file and give you access to it.
vascop...recently found this web site and I'm just footling around.
Couldn't you simply calculate the difference in the potential energy of the charge in its two positions (arithmetical and not involving calculus) and, knowing that energy is supplied to the system at the rate of 1kW, derive the time to supply that amount of energy?
