What's that "star" in the South Eastern sky

I saw it yesterday (Tues 31 Aug, 2010) at 10.00 pm. from the North East of England. It's white and very bright.

just had a look and could see the moons that I mentioned earlier in this thread, they are angled between 8 o'clock and 2 o'clock. with decent binos about 10x plus you can see that it appears to be a disc. Stars always appear as points ( but not if you have crappy binos)

i think i can see the same "star" or light it is very bright, when the moon is full i can usually see it just to the left hand side a lil bit down, and tonight when the moon aint out i can see it is near enuff directly south , My first chain of thought is to think it was a satellite but it is really bright even sometimes the brightest up there, i can see it all the time, which makes me wonder.......................................
