Wonderful on two conditions - (i) small sweet ones (ii) steamed for no more than 3 minutes, perhaps a final sautée with black pepper and some walnuts or almonds, or even cashews, maybe apricots, or cranberries as well......
I love them cooked properly (not mushy!) with pancetta and chestnuts at Christmas. If doing them any other time of the year, I shred them finely and fry them (and the tops if availiable) with a bit of garlic an chilli.
I hate sprouts. Almost (but not quite) as much as I hate the people who say, 'Oh but you'll love them the way I cook them with.....' NO! Brussels sprouts are just plain evil.
