Brandy butter, ice cream or cream? Leftovers fried or eaten cold??

funnily enough......we bought 2 small ones last year. Had one at Christmas and the other one has sat until the cupboard until now. we're having it tonight with custard. The date is until March 2013 so its all good.

Yeah, but the sprouts do have more of an affect though don't they ladies lol.
you have to have the Xmas pud to have the bullets ready for the sprout-effect decompression, tony............
The only effect they have on me is wanting more, smothered in gravy - yum !!!
I love christmas pudding. My nan's was the best, but sadly she's no longer with us so have to put up with shop-bought one. Christmas pudding, mince pie and double cream. yummy.

I shall be hoping that whoever in the family has the duty to get the food this year will have the sense to find a nice alcoholic one from the store whilst managing to avoid any with nuts. And, on the day, assuming they managed that, I shall be the one wondering why there is so much in my bowl whilst others seem to be voluntarily missing out on the best pudding ever, one that one only gets to eat at Christmas. Cream is traditional with it, but I'm not fussed. Brandy butter, cream, condensed milk, whatever. Holly & flames if you like.
I have just bought my first Christmas Pudding of the year Asda Smart Price and really enjoyed it. I eat it like cake wonderful.
We do a batch and they last for 2 or 3 years. Still have a couple left for this year.
You cannot beat Christmas Pud,served with brandy butter when hot,on the day.
Also with runny cream when cold,on Boxing Day and anytime after!
I have just bought a 'White Christmas Pudding' - it has cherries and almonds so I'm looking forward to that

Antony WT recommends left over pudding fried in butter and served with Bacon!
Might buy a traditional one just to try that - otherwise not bothered about it
Stir up Sunday is the Sunday before Advent, so-called because the prayer for the day in the book of Common Prayer begins "Stir up, O Lord, we beseech thee..." This year it is 25th November.
Love it, in small doses.
