Have been told a single Christmas dinner /lunch in a local hotel will set you back 95 quid. How can this be justified ? Is that norm and is there dearer .Maybe I've lead to sheltered a life.

The establishment probably have to pay the staff mucho more dosh for working on Christmas day.

don't think so folks , its the old adage Christmas is the time to make lolly

They charge what people will pay, and to cover the cost of extra wages. When my son was at University and worked in a local pub/restaurant he would always want to work christmas as it was 3x normal pay, they got great tips and had a free meal after everyone had gone. The after session drinkies would often last till way midnight
