Well woofy Sheila the AnswerBank I just stumbled across while googling for one thing or another but the biddies I sought out wittingly... it seemed like a good idea at the time, ha ha. I listened in on them for quite a while before I dared the plunge and said hello. jno had answered hundreds of my (genuine) questions on the AB so I felt I would probably be able to get a letter of recommendation if I needed one. But they just ushered me in, unsuspectingly.

Speaking of maleish names I remember a study which concluded that when you don't know for certain which gender somebody is there's a very strong tendency to assume it's a he. Animal characters in children's books were used as an example - but I've noticed it applies to AB aliases too!

Morning all - I was up at 5am your time but felt it was churlish of me to awaken you all, so made a cuppa and went back to bed until 9am. Lovely if slightly chilly day here. Everyone in the village has the sniffles, driving us all mad.

Next door are having a <matanza> which is (sorry you veggies) a pig killing and then they make oodles of spicy sausage and you name it, they make it. Quite a party going on as they throw away nothing!!

Morning, possums. That wasn't a bad theory with the pump up bra and the heat, Robinia, considering what once happened to Bing Crosby. I've forgotten which film it was they were shooting but the scene was he was going to sing something smooth, maybe romantic, and they had decided to glue his ears to his head to make him look... erm, smoother? ...and in the midst of his singing his ears popped out because the heat of the studio lights had caused the glue to melt.

Vinny you know inspector Wallander!! I'm amazed! I haven't read those books or seen the films but they are very big here and - get this - the stories are set in the town where I grew up. It's a most picturesque little place and I've been thinking I should show it to y'all one day. I'll do my homework and get back to you on that one.

I like Kurt Wallander too Kit .I have read them all to date and have not long finished reading Kennedys Brain which was brilliant .They take so long to come out here though .I suppose they do take a while to translate. They are going to be televised here soon.
Apparently you have a Wallander tour in Ystad !
