IT'S CHRISTMAS TIME

There's a cloud of breath on a frosty day,
There's mittens and scarves on children at play,
There's a golden glow in the avenue of trees,
and raindrops glisten as they float on the breeze.

We're all waiting for that special day to come
when families get together all together as one.
children's faces glow and laughter rings out,
decorations sparkle and lights twinkle all about.

Looking out into the night sky, listening for a sound
those faces know he'll be here, he's coming around.
They wake before dawn has lightened the sky...
has Santa had his sherry and his mince pie?

On tip-toe and hushed they creep to the tree
"there is something for you and something for me"
little fingers eagerly untie ribbons and bows,
being watched in secret by someone who knows.

There's a Christmas smell floating in the air
there's chattering and laughter just everywhere
There's clinking of glasses and sounds of fun
This is a happy Christmastime for you and everyone.
