I've converted my Julian MacDonald ball dress and made it into a Lady Dracula outfit complete with red and black cape with a standy uppy collar and everything!!!
Just got to get the black wig and I'm sorted.
Er.....zombie? Jilted bride (with a knife and bloodstains)?

haha that's awesome :)
I'm not really a holloweeney person see.. otherwise this would be a simple decision.. but having only ever been to one fancydress party.. (and going as rambo (lady rambo) because I had no ideas and I happened to have a pair of camo trousers), I find myself getting more and more frustrated the more I try to look into an outfit... damn it!

For a really quick one - go as a scarecrow. Wear a black dustbin liner, with pieces of material stuck on for patches, ruffle your hair up or buy a wig (joke shops sell them cheaply), grab a tatty pair of jeans and boots - and away you go. If you want to look a bit more vampy - any long skirt (pref. black), black top - plus dramatic make-up, and you could go as a witch. Not exactly rivetting - but cheap and easy to do, and after a few drinks, I doubt anyone'll be bothered anyway. Have a good time!
If you want to do simple seam work, you might turn yourself into a sultana or raisin by making a bin-bag style costume for yourself and stuffing it with light filler. Wear stockings to top off the effect. You could do the same making yourself into a pumpkin and make a hat that represents the stem.
A couple of years ago I was invited to a party. There was a chap there who was in a business suit but was wearing a pair of pants on his head. When we'd ask him what he was he said 'the president of the united states.'
Go figure!

Coleen had a great outfit on Loose Women yesterday, sort of goth bride I think! It was very simple if you can sew, a long black jacket which laced up the front chest area with a long white dress underneath (or you could just sew a white panel up the front where the jacket is open) Then she had a veil made of loads of raggy black and white strips and some net bits fastened high on the head - and lots of black eye make up and some stars on her cheeks. It looked really effective, I sew quite a bit myself so made a mental note for future reference!
