I want to put on a short nativity as a tutor assembly in December. I need some ideas for cheap and easy costumes and props Thanks in anticipation.

If you're going traditional, then tea towels, curtains and bedsheets are a time-honoured favourite. If it's contemporary, or your cast is a little older, why not choose a modern theme for the costumes - street clothes for Mary & Joseph, Barbours & wellies for the shepherds, and celebrity bling for the wise men etc etc.
