hi what sort of top cud i wear with a mini tartan skirt to go out on the town dont want anything to reveiling xx

My general rule is that if I'm wearing a short skirt, I'll cover up on top. And if i'm wearing a skimpy top, i'll cover up my bottom half. Just avoids wearing too little and looking like I'm 'after' attention.

So i'f i was wearing a mini tartan skirt, i'd wear a simple t-shirt/fitted top/jumper (dependant on the venue) in black or white to go with it.

A black cap sleeved fitted t-shirt should look nice. Agree with atolhurst about either showing flesh up top or down bottom - never both.

Keep the top simple and wear accessory jewellery if u think your outfit needs it.

Tartan is a difficult print to pull off, your going to have to keep eveything else plain and simple and focus on the fit and tailoring rather than colour or print.

A low cut or no sleaved top will just make you look cheap and possibly a christina aguilara look-alike in diiirty.

If I was going to wear a tartan skirt id wear a plain black long sleaved blouse with puff ball wrists and one long chained pendant necklace (gold/silver) highlighting with a metallic or red bag.

there's lots of high neck sheer blouses in shops at minute (warehouse have some) which would look great with the skirt and some platforms - v trendy! top shop also have some fab tops which aren't too revealing and will keep the look classy - like titiara said - go for puff sleevs to keep it trendy!

make it plain whatever it is, preferably black. I've bought a plain black sleeveless top (evening) and a black polo/turtle neck (daytime) to go with mine, both look great even if I do say so myself.
